The Private and Public Water Supplies (Miscellaneous Amendments) (Scotland) Regulations 2015

These Regulations came into force on 28 November 2015.  They amend the Private Water Supplies (Scotland) Regulations 2006 and the Public Water Supplies (Scotland) Regulations 2014 to implement European Council Directive 2013/51/Euratom laying down requirements for the protection of the health of the general public with regard to radioactive substances in water intended for human consumption, in particular by the inclusion of an indicator parameter for radon with a threshold set at 100 Bq/l.

The 2015 Regulations further amend the 2006 Regulations making provision regarding the application and introduction of substances and products into private water supplies and make some adjustments to the parameters in Schedule 1 of the 2006 Regulations.
